May's meeting included raffling off the yarns that we dyed during the April meeting, as well as, show & tell of members' whimsical knitted projects & their beautiful creations.
April's meeting was a hands on activity. First, we received demonstrations on Kool-aid yarn dyeing techniques and then we got to work dyeing yarn hanks. We dipped the yarn into hot water & Kool-aid, used the Ice Cube Method, and used the Pipette Method using drips & splashes. We also created spots of color using Easter egg dye pellets.
This month we received small group instruction on using circular needles and Helix knitting. Helix knitting involves working several colors of yarn in a continuous spiral to create jogless stripes.
Red Scarf Month! We knitted forty-seven red scarves to be donated to support women's heart health. Congratulations to our two winning knitters, Lucie & Barbara! Our guild members chose their scarves as the two "Favorites of The Bunch!"
This month we worked together to wind donated cones of yarns into balls for future community knitting projects.
